History
Sony Sketch was a drawing software created by Sony. It was downloaded tens of millions of times, and was selected as "Editor's Choice" by the Google Play team. At the end of 2018, Sony decided to close the project and let everyone in the team go. This was announced to Sketch's users in April 2019.
Background
Sony was still a major player in the mobile phone market in 2013, with the Xperia Z line of models attempting to capture a greater portion of the premium segment. The most unusual phone in the lineup was the Z Ultra, which was so large that it was difficult to fit into your pocket. However, it had an amazing feature: it could be used with any ordinary pencil. Sony developers were tasked with building a drawing app for this new phone.
Shutdown
At the end of 2018, Sony decided to shut down Sketch and let the entire team go. Users were notified of the shutdown on April 23rd, 2019. The team attempted to buy out the app and continue it outside of Sony, but failed. On October 3, 2019, Sony shut down the Sketch online service, and a few days later the app was removed from Google Play and the App Store. At the time of the shutdown, Sketch had millions of users, and hundreds of millions of drawings stored in the cloud.
My Informations
I got this app around 2020-2021 on Play Store. It was appeared in the category of "You might be interested:" or "Recommended for you" while I was downloading something in the process. So I went to the app and found it was interesting. I've been using this app for 4 years and It's the greatest app I can work around making my artwork. I found out a few days later that it cannot be found since Sony Sketch has already been shut down in 2019. First device to have the app installed on is my tablet. To get the app installed in different devices, I need to copy the Play Store link to the app, then use my account to get the app because if one device has installed that app, it can be installed on the other device (and if it was bought, it can be installed without needing to pay for the app again).
I can still edit photos like Photoshop using artistic skills to do it since Sony Sketch is a drawing app but Photoshop is a Photo Editing Program. It doesn't have the same property as Photoshop, but I can still work my way on doing it if it's actually possible for my own skills.
Although, it is not downloaded via APK files. It might just appeared by accident because the app is supposed to be made for only Sony Mobile. But, there's also another app that is made by the people who made the old friendly app you're familiar with which is Sony Sketch: Sketchers United.
Sketchers United
Sketchers United is a Social Media and a Drawing app made by a formal members of Sony Sketch. It was made to replace the original app of Sony Sketch
